This holdown device comes equipped with a ratchet bar and is intended to be used with Rite-Hite dock levelers. Holdown devices are a critical element of dock levelers, as they keep dock levelers in a secure position during loading and unloading. Over the years, however, due to the immense weight these devices have to bear, they can begin to age out and fail. This could lead to a serious accident if your dock leveler buckles while a forklift driver or loading dock employee is in the process of moving cargo to or from a transport vehicle.
