Gas shocks are used to move hydraulic dock levelers up and down. As gas shocks begin to fail, the dock leveler will not hold steady, but instead will begin to bounce or sway, creating a potentially hazardous situation. The dock leveler will not move at all once the gas shocks have completely failed. This gas shock is for Rite Hite hydraulic dock levelers. It is a replacement part for gas shocks that are beginning to fail or have completely failed, rendering the dock leveler either unsafe to use or completely unusable.
