Shock absorbers are employed to position hydraulic dock levelers to the correct height. When the dock leveler begins to bounce or sway, the shock absorbers are worn out and are failing. When the dock leveler will not move at all, the shock absorbers have failed and need to be replaced. This shock absorber is for Serco hydraulic dock levelers and controls the descent of the dock leveler lip. It is a replacement part for a shock absorber that is failing or has failed, making the dock leveler unsafe or unusable.
